Hays Nest

“Mom” & “Dad” Hays, the original territory holding pair at Hays. Together, between 2012 & 2023 they built four nests, successfully hatching & fledging 20 eaglets, all of whom we picture out there flying somewhere. In the fall of 2023 Dad was displaced by HM2. A few confirmed sightings of Dad subsequently, reassure us that he is still out there somewhere. (image credit: Pixcams)

“Mom” and “HM2” (Hays Male #2), who displaced “Dad” Hays in the fall of 2023. Mom & HM2 made a nesting attempt together in 2024, producing one egg that became non-viable. Numerous intrusions from challengers just prior to and subsequent to egg laying, significantly disrupted their nesting effort. The Hays nest, which had been showing signs of slow deterioration at the beginning of the season, later fell from the tree with no subsequent eagle activity in that tree. Instead the pair relocated to Glen Hazel, building a new nest largely unobserved, until 4/19/25, and successfully fledged two eaglets. (Go to Glen Hazel tab) (image credit: Pixcams)
